Landscape Construction Foreman

Position Purpose/Summary

Under limited direction of the Landscape Construction Manager, supervises the work of personnel and oversees projects pertaining to Landscape Construction.

Qualifications:

  • Valid SC driver’s license, insurable driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles
  • High school graduate or GED, 5 years supervisory experience, with knowledge of irrigation systems.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, read maps, record and report data; work independently.
  • Strong ability to lead, train and support crew members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be customer service oriented

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure customer’s expectations are being met
  • Supervise, train and assign work for crew members
  • Document and record all work preformed
  • Onsite supervision of installation and irrigation crews
  • Responsible for safety, equipment and materials needed for daily projects
  • Maintain a high-level of quality and efficiency in the field
  • Makes recommendations on personnel matters
  • Makes recommendations for the repair or replacement of equipment and vehicles
  • Work closely with Construction Field Manager

Landscape Maintenance Supervisor

Position Purpose/Summary

Under limited direction of the Maintenance Manager, supervises the work of crew and oversees each

property.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in horticulture/landscape business preferred.
  • Valid SC driver’s license, insurable driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles
  • High school graduate or GED, 2 years supervisory experience
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Strong ability to lead, train and support crew members
  • Plant identification (turf, trees,, shrubs, weeds)
  • Identify infestation of insects and fungus on plant material
  • Ability to operate all property maintenance mowing equipment to include mowers, string trimmers,

hedge trimmers, edgers, blowers, etc.

  • Read maps, record and report data; work independently

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train and assign work for crew members

Landscape Construction Manager

Position Purpose/Summary

Oversee and manage day to day activities of our Landscape Construction Division

 Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or related field; or a minimum of 3 years landscape construction experience.
  • Experience with commercial and residential landscape installations to include budgeting, job costing, materials management, project management, estimating, production and scheduling.
  • Strong ability to lead, train and support crew members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and job costing methods are preferred.
  • Extensive horticulture knowledge to include plant identification.
  • Identify disease or infestation of insects, fungus, etc. on plant material.
  • Proficiency in irrigation system diagnosis and repair.
  • Knowledge of blueprints, takeoffs, plant material, hard-scapes and water features.
  • Understand, operate and train team members on all construction equipment to include skid steers, farm tractors, excavators, trenchers, chippers, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Landscape Construction Division
  • Manage, direct, and train landscape construction employees.
  • Manage the daily operations of multiple construction sites.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring and retention of employees; and approval of timesheets and employee leave requests.
  • Responsible for safety; processing change orders; purchasing; and daily schedules of personnel, equipment and materials associated with each project.
  • Confirm the documentation and record all work performed.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and efficiency in the field.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, respond to customer complaints and special requests, and promote company image.
  • Responsible for site visits.
  • Keep records of personnel matters, vehicles, and service requests.
  • Responsible for safety of crews and equipment.
  • Serve as liaison between Exceed and general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Responsible for all construction equipment and preventive maintenance.
  • Confirm contact utility company regarding line location and secure any permits required.
  • Work closely with Landscape Maintenance Manager.
  • Any additional duties required.

Vice President of Operations

Position Summary: Oversee day to day operations for Exceed Landscape Solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Business Management or a related field preferred; or a minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape construction and maintenance in a management capacity.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, job costing, project management, estimating and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of architectural design.
  • Qualified in hardscape design and installation.
  • Proven leadership abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of Construction and Maintenance Divisions.
  • Provide support to the Maintenance Managers and Construction Managers.
  • Monitor financial aspects including budgets and job costs.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance schedule to ensure all equipment is serviced regularly and kept in safe operating order.
  • Represent Exceed Landscape Solutions in meetings with customers, contractors, sub-contractors and vendors.
  • Work side by side with managers and supervisors to assure the project is completed satisfactorily.
  • Maintain open interaction and communication with all employees and clients to assure customer satisfaction.

Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in an office setting and an outside environment and is subject to weather conditions. Various chemicals will be used in the maintenance of properties as well as hand and power tools, mowers, tractors, and other equipment. Indoor work requires advanced computer skills.

Some heavy lifting may be required.

Irrigation Technician
Position Purpose/Summary
Under limited direction of the Maintenance Manager, works independently installing, repairing and overseeing existing irrigation systems for each property.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years experience of irrigation installation and repair preferred
  • Valid SC driver’s license, insurable driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Plant identification (turf, trees,, shrubs, weeds)
  • Identify infestation of insects and fungus on plant material
  • Ability to operate irrigation equipment as well as all construction equipment skid steers, trenchers, excavators etc.
  • Read Blue prints and landscape designs
  • Read maps, record and report data; work independently
Responsibilities:
  • Install and repair multi and two wire irrigation systems
  • Operate a voltage /ohm meter
  • Operate valve/wiring locator
  • Adjust and replace heads
  • Document and record all work preformed
  • Maintain a high level of quality and efficiency in the field
  • Ensure customer’s expectations are being met
  • Work closely with Landscape Maintenance Manager
  • Responsible for safety and equipment
  • Responsible for all spray equipment and preventive maintenance
