Doing Your Part To Save The Bees

I’m sure you’ve heard by now that bees are becoming an endangered species.  That can’t be good. There are other ways to pollinate crops. Birds, butterflies, and wind all have a part in the process, but bees play an integral part.  Our existence depends on the ability to grow the food necessary to feed humankind, and without bees the other contributors just couldn’t handle the job.

That being said, many people want to help rebuild the bee population.  Planting native flowering plants and perennials in your yard will help, and will draw other wildlife as well.  Hummingbirds and butterflies are welcome visitors and the native plants will serve you well year after year with very little maintenance. It’s a win, win situation.
